"Local Thai fanatics have been raving about Titay's ever since it opened last year, and for good reason.
With perfectly executed standards like Pad Thai and Gang Dang (spiced up to your specifications) and
egg rolls prepared so fresh that the veggies snap a bit when you bite into them, all other local pretenders
to the Thai crown now have stiff competition. Vegetarians will be thrilled by the variety, as tofu is
available for substitution on nearly every entree. The black rice pudding is both a warm after-dinner
treat and a delicious breakfast the next morning. The straightforward dining room is comfortable enough
(if lacking in atmosphere) but service is sweet and attentive; here, ever takeout customers are given
ice water while they wait for their food. Titaya's is often packed through midday-mostly due to the
$6.50 lunch specials-and on weekdays, don't bother showing up between 3 and 5 p.m.; That's when
Titaya's closed to prepare for dinner. Great for: Your daily dose of curry. Entrees: $8-$15
